About

Alex Witcombe

Although my current creative focus is sculpting with driftwood, I have been fortunate to explore many artistic avenues in my career including mural design and painting, drawing, graphic design, digital illustration and writing and illustrating children’s books. I graduated with my BFA from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2007.

Drifted Creations began in 2016 with the creation of ‘Sheila the Velociraptor’, a public art sculpture located on Stories Beach in Campbell River, British Columbia. Since then, the driftwood journey has included hundreds of public art projects and commissions for private clients, businesses and communities.
